Beef lentil soup.

Debated on barley or lentils and the lentils won. Great choice. Used ground hamburger and added chopped onion, celery, tomato and sliced carrots. Spices of thyme, marjoram, garlic, S&P, parsley and bay leaf. Added 8 cups of  homemade beef broth. Let simmer for 30 minutes and added lentils and simmered for an additional 30-40 minutes until lentils were done.


A warm hearty soup in the middle of winter. Served with some toasted garlic and thyme bread.
