Southern Fried Chicken Livers with Onions & Bell Peppers Recipe INGREDIENTS 1 pound of cleaned chicken livers - membrane removed, rinsed and drained 2 cups sliced onions 1 - 1 1/2 cups sliced bell peppers 1/2 cup diced tomatoes 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce salt and black pepper oil SEASONED FLOUR: 1 cup flour 1 tbsp. Lawry's seasoning 1/8 tsp. white pepper 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. onion powder *Mix above ingredients. Dredge chicken livers and coat well. In a skillet on medium to med high heat add about 1/4 cup oil. Place in chicken livers and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side depending on thickness. Remove and set to the side. In same skillet on medium heat, leave about 3 tbsp. of oil on bottom. Add onions, bell peppers and salt. Cook and stir for 4-5 minutes or until tender. Leave a little crunch. Add tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Cook and stir another couple minutes or until the tomatoes break down. Add cooked chicken livers and stir. Serve with rice or potatoes.
