Chinese Orange Chicken Stir Fry ~ Healthy Chinese Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound of cubed boneless chicken breasts or thighs
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
2 tsp. cornstarch
*In a bowl mix above ingredients and let rest for
15 minutes
1 tsp. minced ginger
3-4 cloves minced garlic
4 chopped green onions - whites green separated
red chili peppers - halved and seeded - optional
2-3 tbsp. oil ~ use a high temp oil like peanut
or avocado
SAUCE:
3/4 to 1 cup of orange juice
orange zest - I used about 2 tsp.
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. honey or granulated / brown sugar
1 tsp. chili sauce / chili garlic sauce
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. cornstarch
*In a bowl mix above ingredients together.
In a pan / wok on high heat add oil and chicken.
Spread out chicken and stir after 20 seconds.
Stir and cook chicken for 4-5 minutes until almost done.
Add ginger, garlic, red chili and garden onion whites.
Stir and cook for 1 minute.
Add sauce and stir. Sauce will thicken. Cook for 1 minute.
Add garden onion greens, stir and cook for 15-30 seconds.
Eat and enjoy.
